State of Oregon
Oregon State: Oregon Health Policy and Research The Office for Oregon Health Policy and Research (OHPR) is responsible for the development and analysis of health policy in Oregon and serves as the policymaking body for the Oregon Health Plan. The Office provides analysis, technical, and policy support to assist the Governor and the Legislature in setting health policy. It carries out specific tasks assigned by the Legislature and the Governor, provides reports and conducts analyses relating to health care costs, utilization, quality, and access.
- Safety Net Advisory Council In 2005, the Governor’s Office directed the Office for Oregon Health Plan Policy and Research in conjunction with the Department of Human Services, Health Systems Planning to convene and staff the Health Care Saftety Net Advisory Council (SNAC). The SNAC reflects the diversity of Oregon’s health care safety net and meet at least quarterly. The SNAC provides policy makers and the Oregon Health Policy Commission with specific policy recommendations for safety net providers in order to ensure the provision of needed services to vulnerable Oregonians.

Oregon’s Health Care Safety Net
Oregon’s Healthcare Safety Net has emerged in response to the increasingly large number of uninsured Oregonians. The Safety Net Advisory Council address the issues raised by the current economic situation and needs in the communities across Oregon. The purpose of this report is to share information deem viable to the community we serve.

Tri-County Emergency Department Research
The Tri-County Health Care Safety Net Enterprise engaged Dr. Robert Lowe and his Associate Molly Vogt, to collect and analyze data from twelve local hospitals, over a four-year period. The results of this unprecedented study were presented to the community for discussion, at a lunch forum on February 21, 2007. The full report is posted here with the hope that the data and GIS maps will contribute to the ongoing community dialogue about how to increase access to better health, for more people, at less cost.
