Mission

NCNM's mission is to educate and train physicians and practitioners in the art and science of natural medicine.

Note: NCNM offers access to natural health care to low income and under-insured people at community based health clinics throughout the Portland metropolitan area. Clinic locations are listed at the bottom of this page or go to the page Clinics-By Neighborhood to find clinics in your neighborhood.

NCNM has volunteer opportunities. Please call Human Resources at 503-552-2001/503-522-2004 to inquire about community clinic opportunities.

Taking New Patients?

Yes. To schedule an appointment, please call 503-552-1515 (9:30 a.m. -3:00 p.m., Monday - Friday) for current community clinic schedules and openings. Note: A community clinic visit costs $20 - $30. No person will be turned away for financial reasons.

Eligibility Requirements

  • FPL must be at or below 200% What is FPL?
  • All resident locations accepted.

Proof of Eligibility

  • We do not require proof of income at our Community Clinics. We do require proof of FPL at our Natural Health Center and Pettygrove Clinics if you are applying for low-income sliding scale.
  • Income below FPL to receive 40% visit discount and 20% medicine discount at NCNM Main Teaching clinics.

  • $20 - $30 fee per visit at Community Clinic locations.
  • 40% discount at Natural Health Center and Pettygrove Clinic with proof of income under 200% of federal poverty level.

Cost: This is our income dependent sliding scale clinic. Our providers also see patients on Oregon Health Plan with OPEN CARDS. This clinic is open Saturdays as well. NCNM Main Clinic focuses on all facets of naturopathic and classical Chinese medicine providing primary care for acute and chronic disease. The clinic includes a comprehensive natural and Chinese medicinary as well as a licensed, full-service laboratory. Sliding scale discounts are available to patients below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Proof of income is required.

Located in the community hall of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in North Portland, this clinic targets minority patients that have not traditionally accessed naturopathic services. We are also open to the community as a whole.

Portland Community College – Workforce Clinic

This Northeast Portland clinic is located in the Workforce Training Center building on 42nd and Killingsworth. It provides health care services dislocated workers in training to re-enter the work force and is open to the community as a whole.

New Columbia Opportunity Center Clinic

This clinic provides primary health care to community members with acute and chronic concerns. This clinic also provides care related to patient concerns in areas of nutrition, homeopathy, botanical medicine, and physicals.

This clinic serves the surrounding areas for the general community in Hillsboro, Aloha, and the greater Portland area. This clinic also serves psychiatric patients that were or were not previously institutionalized in a Mental Health facility in the Washington County area. (Open to the general public).

This clinic in Gresham operates out of a Wallace Medical Concern facility and provides services for Latinos, migrant farm workers and is open to the general public. This clinic provides GYN services and Spanish interpretation.

Portland Community Clinic – Sylvania Campus

Located in southwest Portland, this clinic is the only health service provider on campus. It is the largest of the three PCC campuses, serving approximately 26,000 students annually. The clinic is open to the entire community.

The An Hao Clinic is an integrated natural therapies clinic offering traditional Chinese medicine, naturopathic medicine, chiropractice and massage. The clinic is managed by Institute for Traditional Medicine (ITM)

Central City Concern Recovery Center (CCCRC)

Out patient treatment – addition recovery. CCCRC uses a multi-disciplinary approach and evidence based practices – tailoring for each individual a combination of medical care, acupuncture, mental health counseling, peer mentoring , education about the disease – and drug-free housing.

Hooper Detoxification Center

The Hooper Center provides a 54-bed, sub-acute medical detoxification program which involves 4-7 days of medical treatment for early withdrawal symptom and counseling.
