Limitation of Liability for Medical Professional Volunteers

Register with the Board Of Medical Examiners

Oregon House Bill 2554, passed by the 1999 Legislature, limits the liability of Oregon-licensed physicians, physician assistants, and certain other health professionals for injury, death, or other loss that may arise from services they provide without compensation. Register with the BME to see patients in your office.

Charity Care at a Coalition Clinic

Multnomah County Indemnification

MCHD provides indemnification for medical professionals volunteering in a Coalition Clinic. Coalition Clinic staff will ask you to provide the MCHD paperwork below and submit it to the clinic. Clinics will submit the paperwork to MCHD.

  1. Volunteer application checklist (doc)
  2. MCHD Indemnification Application (doc)
  3. Professional References (doc)
  4. Renewal Application (doc)
    Indemnified volunteers must submit a request for renewal of indemnification every two years

All reports will be kept confidential and should be returned to the Coalition of Community Health Clinics.
