Executive Director's Report

The Coalition of Community Health Clinics Board decided hiring a full-time Executive Director was the next important step towards achieving improved access to health care in our community. As the first Executive Director of this Coalition, my focus is on building partnerships with health care safety net partners, and increasing local capacity to provide health services for those in need.

It is evident that the need for health care safety net services will continue to increase. However, so will our collective resolve to support vulnerable individuals and families. As political, social, and funding barriers grow more significant, communities will rely more than ever on the invaluable services provided by community clinics. Our Coalition has grown in size and scope over the last two years, making us the largest regional group of safety net clinics in Oregon. We will forge ahead, utilizing all of the skills, resourcefulness and compassion that have led us to where we are today.

This fortitude is reflected in the goals established in our Strategic Plan for the upcoming year:

  1. Increase Capacity Connect members to critical information, technical assistance, training & other resources.
  2. Economies of Scale Create opportunities for sharing costs among clinics that maximize precious resources and benefit member clinics and their patients.
  3. Influence Effectively influence safety-net policy and funding decisions made by local, state and national entities and funders.
  4. Client Services Provide accurate and accessible clinic information to the community. You can help!

There are a number of ways you can make immediate, direct impact. From contributions of time, talent, or finances to making the Coalition your primary outlet for active involvement, we need your passion to improve the health of vulnerable individuals, their families, and the community. Additionally, we appreciate administrative volunteers, and medical supply donations.

Our Volunteer and Donate pages will provide you more in depth information about joining our cause.

Most of all, I am honored to play a small part in the evolution of improved health for our community. Please share your thoughts with me about how together we can support our fragile yet essential health care safety net.
