General Information
The Essential Health Clinic improves health in Washington County through collaborative efforts of community partners and volunteers by providing high quality urgent care and access to healthcare services for those with the fewest resources and the greatest barriers to care.
Hours of Operation
Mondays and Thursdays
5PM: Numbers are given out randomly
6PM: Health care providers begin seeing patients

Services and Programs
We are able to treat patients suffering from any of the following:
- Acute infections (ears, eyes, skin, bladder etc)
- Fevers
- Recent onset of acute pain
- Serious cough, cold, congestion
- Rashes
- Asthma
- Gastric distress
- Minor burns
- Minor injuries (sprains)
- Screenings for people with symptoms of diabetes, hypertension and other chronic conditions
- Patient education to promote greater understanding of medical conditions and reduce the incidence of complications
- Referrals to other community healthcare resources
The clinic is not set up to provide:
- General physical exams
- Immunizations
- Dental or vision health needs
- On the job injuries or injuries related to an automobile accident
- Care for long term ailments of many years duration (i.e. low back pain)
- Treatment for depression, anxiety or other mental health issues
- Prenatal care
- Emergency or trauma care (referred immediately to the local Emergency Department)
Financial Assistance, Costs, and Eligibility
Four basic criteria for being seen at the clinic:
- Have an URGENT healthcare issue/condition
- Have no insurance
- Be of low income and unable to pay for health insurance and healthcare
- Not a patient of Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Clinic in the last 3 years
