This award honors a health and human services agency that has demonstrated leadership and measurable results to deliver community impact in partnership with United Way. Nominees delivered an innovative approach, emphasis on collaboration, good reporting of results, and reciprocal support of United Way in the spirit of true partnership.

The award was presented by UWCW Board Member Maria Rubio, Portland City’s Public Safety & Security Director, and Brent Stewart, United Way’s President/CEO.

Ms. Rubio said, “With a $35,000 Project Innovation grant from United Way, the coalition was able to leverage technology to maximize clinic resources. They created a website that makes it possible for network clinics to share referral and access information more effectively. The public site also makes it easier for local folks to find a clinic close to their home.

“The website provides centralized, up-to-date and accurate information for referral resources, both between clinics and for community resources. It is estimated that more than 5,000 referrals will be facilitated each year. The project is poised to expand to include Multnomah County Health Department Clinics.

“Their success is an example of how United Way is enabling innovative new programs to flourish. With United Way investment, the Coalition has implemented an important resource that adds value to our community,” said Ms. Rubio.
