Costs and Financial Assistance
- OHP and DHS are accepted.
- Financial Assistance is available.
- Planned Parenthood requires US citizenship for any type of emergency contraception
- Patient must show proof of citizenship such as permanent residency.
Specific Costs
Cash rate as follows (for those with no insurance):
- Abortion Cost: Must be paid at time of services
- Positive blood type:
- $430 medical up to 7 weeks and 6 days.
- $430 surgical up to 13 weeks and 6 days. – Included is a funded cover follow-up visit, within 30 days of abortion.
- No anesthesia, medication only included.
- Negative blood type will add to cost, which may be between $32 to $125 depending on length of pregnancy.
- Pregnancy Tests, cost = $10.
Potential Funding by Agency
If patient does not have any financial resources such as:

- insurance
Limited Private Funding is Available
Guidelines for Applying for Funding
- A letter must be submitted that states denial of state insurance when applied for financial assistance.
- The application is extensive, it must be filled out in person or over the phone.
- Application does not guarantee funds.
- It may be possible to cover full cost of abortion only on approved exceptions; approved applications may be discounted up to 50%.
- Please be aware of application time. If need is dire, please make sure application is filled in advanced to be considered into time frame of services such as abortion.
- The application is sent to Bend, Oregon and are reviewed ONLY on Thursdays and Fridays.
- Title X program is only offered at the Southeast Portland Planned Parenthood. If the patient has an income of $817 or less, this program will cover emergency contraception fully funded by the agency up to one year.
Advice Notes
- If the patient is over the age of 18 and
- is in need of the morning after pill when clinics are full or closed
- the MAP is now available over the counters at all pharmacies located in WA and OR without prescription.
- Cost ranges between $40 to $60.
