Emergency Supplies Car Kit

Place contents into a backpack. This keeps items from rolling around in a vehicle trunk and provides an efficient way to carry items if you leave your car. If it is too heavy, leave unneeded items in the trunk.

• Water
• First aid kit
• First aid reference guide
• Foods – choose those that don’t require water to prepare and that don’t create thirst.
• Any canned items are preferable in pop top cans
• Silverware, plate
• Can opener (manual, not electric)
• Hand sanitizer

• Flashlight and extra batteries
• List of emergency contacts
• Blanket or sleeping bag (a space blanket is a good alternative)
• Rain coat and pants
• Heavy soled shoes and socks
• Warm pants and top layers

• Large garbage bags (to wear as rain gear, sit on, carry supplies, etc.)
• Paper and pens
• Coins or phone card
• Portable radio and extra batteries
• Light stick and string to signal for help
• Extra items for passengers, children, pets, as needed

Keep a list of prescriptions, emergency contacts, and your car insurance company in your wallet at all times.
